How To Develop Garbage Removal Schedules

Companies that collect garbage need to develop garbage removal schedules that will enable them to collect rubbish from different premises on time. If you leave garbage for a long time, it will start smelling, and this can lead to issues with illness, pests and more. A convenient schedule should, therefore, ensure that garbage disposal materials are provided on time and rubbish removal is done regularly. Below are critical guidelines that should help you to develop garbage removal schedules.

Consider the size of the facility

The size of the facility where garbage needs to be collected will determine the frequency of the visits. If the facility is large, rubbish collections needs to happen more frequently.

An example is when you have to collect rubbish from a restaurant and in several households. In comparison to the private homes, the restaurant will produce more garbage and leaving them on the site will be a health hazard. As such, it may be necessary to collect the rubbish from the restaurant on a daily basis. However, the rubbish generated by private homes is significantly lower. You can decide to provide skip bins for use by the various households and empty them at least once a week. Based on the amount of rubbish generated in these homes, this schedule will not inconvenience them.

Assess the type of waste generated

The type of waste generated by different clients also influences the garbage removal schedules. This is because some types of wastes are dangerous, such as toxic wastes, and pose a health hazard when they are left lying around for too long.

On the other hand, wastes such as food remains might not have a similar toxic risk but can start smelling if not removed in time. The best approach to deal with these situations is to collect the toxic wastes as soon as they are generated and set a fixed time to collect food remains. You can also provide special skip bins that can be used to dispose of any hazardous waste. When developing your schedule, such waste needs to be given the priority.

Plan the route to be covered

For efficiency, the schedule should follow a particular route, whereby you move from one point to the next without having to go backward. Following such a schedule is easy since you will pick the garbage from points along the route as you go. Once you complete a particular section of the town, you move to another area. This reduces the chances of back and forth movement that leads to wastage of time and fuel when the pickup points are scattered all over town.
